Michael Napier
is widely regarded as a progressive thinker and influential architect of major reforms to the civil justice system and fundamental changes in the market for legal services. As an accredited mediator his focus has always been on the delivery of fair and pragmatic solutions to complex problems.
Since his Presidency of the Law Society in 2001 Michael was the Attorney-General’s pro bono envoy between 2001 – 2015. Having completed his term as Chairman of Irwin Mitchell Holdings Ltd in 2012 he ran his own consultancy until February 2021, advising on civil justice and the business of law. As a pioneer of litigation funding he was Lead Non-Executive Director at Harbour Litigation Funding Ltd. He is now retired.
